WELCOME TO THE CHICAGO WASTE TO PROFIT NETWORK!

Under the leadership of Mayor Richard M. Daley, the Chicago Waste to Profit Network was developed to benefit Chicago-area businesses through a multi-industry collaborative approach to identify and realize opportunities for cost savings and innovation. The Waste to Profit Network was launched by Mayor Daley on October 31, 2006 at the Chicago Cultural Center.

At its core, the Chicago Waste to Profit Network facilitates the transformation of one company's waste, or by-product, into an industrial input for another company. This process is known as by-product synergy. Synergies formed between participants turn costly waste streams into productive revenue streams while reducing the environmental impact of production.

To date, over 90 companies throughout the Chicago area have joined the network and have implemented--or are in the process of implementing--100 synergies.

COMMUNITY NETWORK MEETING

The next Chicago Waste to Profit Network Community Network meeting will be held at the Chicago Center for Green Technology on January 24, 2008. Chicago area companies interested in seeing how by-product synergy and sustainable practices can benefit their company are welcome to attend if the RVSP Libby Allen at 312.542.0496.
